2985 clips, 1h42m.. Might this be a new record for project size? ;)

I edited this in 3 sections on the iPad Pro and then pasted them together into a single project to do the necessary cross-fades between parts...

This is on the M1 MacBook Pro I just got off eBay. Playback in "fastest" is maybe 2fps. gonna try to export it first before I persevere. It's currently exporting a second attempt in "alternative method".

It took a LOOOOONG time to export. 2hours 50 minutes, but I had to disable sleep in the Mac as that paused the export a few times.

There are also some audio sync issues from the copy & paste which I'll never fix at 2fps playback!
I will render each section in glorious ProRes and join them in Davinci!

I tried! :D

Seems I passed the limit of what Lumafusion is capable of a while ago.

The exports of just a single section refuses to export normally and in alternative mode the audio moves away from sync. It plays back on the timeline OK, but the edit is trapped in Lumafusion if I can't export a video file.

I've admitted defeat with this over ambitious project. I bought the fcpxml export add-on and I'm importing the whole project into Davinci.

To answer my own question I asked on another thread, unlinked audio DOESNT play nice in the import of the XML. Davinci interprets some sections of edited audio into a new compound thing that I've undigested or whatever the term is. Muted audio of the video clip also appears on an audio track, so there's duplicates where I've slipped the audio backwards or forwards. I'll need to go through the edit and fix quite a lot.

This is ALSO the first time using Davinci. Hey, I figured out Premiere watching YouTube tutorials and a friend taught me FCPX over the course of a day or so.

I've got this.

I’m wondering if I would like to see your video. Coast to coast? Maybe just a bit of it :D

Ha ha, just a little bit
It's currently 1.5hours long, all reframed from 3 days and 9 SD cards of 360 footage... I realise this is totally a vanity project.

I was wondering if it’s coast to coast NZ?
With respect to length we walked the Via Francigena in Italy once. It took us 54 days and I had masses of often stunning footage. Now some years later the version of just a few minutes length is the only one we really want to watch and certainly the only one I’d show anyone. You should make the long version but do make a short one too or maybe short ones of sections of your trip.

I've gone backwards and forwards with how I'll deliver this to the masses - I already know it'll have a small audience as the ride had a lot of supporters donating and cheering me along.

I made an hour+ video of me chatting sh** while I put sound deadening in the passenger door of my van which got as many views as my 5 minute videos.

I've done a few 2-part videos that had a really popular pt1, unpopular pt2.

I've settled on a long format with chapters. I'll put clips on instagram, but once this project is finished, I'll be moving onto the next.
:D
