I don't know Mavis. A quick view into the Store looked interesting. I'm using Filmic because of the features. And Filmic is the only camera app which offers more or less a real log-profile for 8-bit (all iPhone before 12) and 10-bit (for all 12er iPhones). (additional inapp purchase)

Also Filmic has a lot of support for 3rd party hardware like gimbals, lenses, etc. I don't think Mavis offers the same (I didn't see anything in the store description).

So yeah I would definitely recommend to use Filmic. But thats just my opinion. Maybe someone whos using Mavis on a daily basis can say anything more and prove me wrong :D

Or neither? Whenever I try a camera app I find myself reverting to the iPhone’s built in camera because it’s accessible from the lock screen so quickly.
Mind you I’m usually taking frequent short clips rather than longer sequences.

I mainly use the built in phone app for the same reasons as Mark

If I'm taking stills and I need to video - just hold the shutter button down

I also have filmic on my devices for the odd occasion when I want fine control

Thank you all
For the advice.
I save my pennies and use the LF for tweaking.
Asking these questions as I updated my phone and now could run these types of apps.

Definitively nothing beats the convenience of the built it camera app. And I also do the same as Dave. Keep it in stills mode, and when I need vide, I simply hold the button down. Pretty fast and ready to go anytime.
