I copied some 4k clips to my USBC Thumb Drive and used LumaFusion and my iPad to edit together a video. The issue was the video would stop playing part way through. I searched and found out about the optimize button which copied the files to the internal storage and the issue was gone. So my thumb drive isn't fast enough to keep up. So my question is which Thumb Drive would you recommend to keep the videos on or is it pointless and I should just copy them to internal storage and then export the project when it's done.

I think that a thumb drive isn’t fast enough. An SSD should be. Although both use flash memory the SSD can spread the read/writing of the data over multiple flash chips at the same time instead of waiting for one to do it all.

Amazon UK selling a 1TB Samsung T7 for £111 (if you choose it in the red colour). 500GB is £67 if you choose the grey colour.

Save a little more if you get a T5. Slower on paper, but tests I've seen online suggest that it keeps up with the T7 just fine on iPad Pro. Also, it seems the T5 is happy to be on a USBC hub, which the T7 isn't...
