Ok - this is what I've found so far. My guess is that there is an issue with mixing 48kHz and 44.1kHz smartphone footage in the same project. I have about 10 clips that happened to alternate between 44.1 and 48kHz (e.g., A B C D E F - where A C E were 44.1 kHz and B D F were 48kHz - all AAC, some mono and most stereo).

This resulted in the worst de-sync by the end. If I put A C E at the beginning followed by B D F then the de-sync wasn't as bad...

I've run out of time at the moment - that's where I'm at so far...

Thanks for taking the time to do the tests Steve. I will let the developers know

Thanks Dave,

Let me know if I can provide any additional details to the developers?

Steve

I have similar issues... sometimes audio and video are not in sync. Restart of the iPad helps..

Thanks. The out-of-sync I am referencing here is also observed when playing the video elsewhere (YouTube, another PC, etc.). Are you suggesting that the out-of-sync is fixed by restarting the iPad and then exporting the movie (as in, the problem exists within the iPad at the time of export, not playback)?

Cheers

Yes it’s quite bad. I have wanted to mention this for a long time since I have experienced it every time I have been working on a video with multiple different layers and often various sounds are just skipped. Also there’s a short delay when pressing play to actually playing (iPad Pro 12.9” 2018).
I really hope LF will run properly and smoothly when I buy the forthcoming iPad Pro M1.

EDIT: I only experience these when using the app - no problems in exported movies.

I hope it will run smoothly on my iPad Pro 2018 - it's certainly powerful enough. I don't believe upgrading the hardware is a path to resolving this issue. Perhaps we will see improvement with LumaFusion 3.0.

Surprised that so few users have chimed-in on this - I guess we just don't know the root cause yet...

Cheers

You’re probably right - it should run smoothly on a iPad Pro 2018. I wonder if the next LM 3 will improve this sufficiently for previous iPad versions so that upgrading to a new M1 might not be necessary? @davebarton ?

I don't know, I'm only a Beta-Tester, and there's no Beta with those features yet

Having said that I haven't had audio sync issues .. except when I've changed the speed of the clips
