I have a very simple problem, but i cant find ANY way of doing this…

In this clip the highlighted transition can NOT be lenghtened, ONLY shortened… WHY is this? I cant find any solution to this simple problem.

The transition at the very top of the timeline can be changed without any problems, but NOT the other!

Heres another example, the last transition can only be 1.01 sec long. The transition before that can only be maximum 1,05 sec long.

WHAT is going on here, this drives me crazy.

It's only the bottom layer that's affected by this strange limitation? I can think of a hack which I think will get you out of trouble.

1 - Make a copy of your project in case this doesn't work and screws up your project.

2 - Add a blank clip at the beginning of the project using the (+) button

3 - Resize it to be the same as your project length

4 - select only the rest of your clips and drag them up and over the top of your blank clip

Usually it’s because there is not enough spare length in one of the clips to extend the transition. Clips must be long enough to cover the whole transition even though the transition may only be showing a faint image of it at the end.
Maybe you can use the slip trimmer tool to give more media at the end near the transition. If there isn’t any extra source clip available one trick is to slow the clip down a little to give it more length. It’s often best to copy it to a spare track to do this to avoid upsetting the timings in your project
