LumaFusion 1.7 is now available in the App Store. This update includes great new features like search and sort in the library, soft edges and curved corners in cropping, and our new integration with Storyblocks, a great royalty-free library of video, audio and sound effects. A sample of clips are included free, with a low-cost subscription available in-app for access to the full library

Hello everybody,

I am using an Apple Smartcover with German layout (QWERTZ). Some shortcuts aren‘t working for me. For example „trim clip start“ which is ⌥[ .On the german layout for [ you have to press ⌥5. This way, I would need to press ⌥ twice to get the shortcut working. ⌥ + (⌥ + 5)

Any idea for a workaround, or a way to fix this?

Kind regards,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

I do have a workaround for you but of course I do not know if you are willing to make this
little change.

I assume you are German and are using the German soft-keyboard on your Apple device.

However, if you install the US keyboard along with the german one (iPad Einstellungen/Tastatur) you
can switch the language of your iPad keyboard on the fly with the globe button on the bottom left of
your keyboard.

If you switch to US Keyboard you will have all the keyboard shortcuts on your german hardware as if
it were a US keyboard.

Now use the two keys to the right of the german P key. This is where [] is located on the US keyboard.

You might have to re-configure your brain a little bit but for the long term - Luma’s base language and
developers speak English. So you might as well learn the position of the shortcut keys for an US
keyboard.

The letters are except for ZY at the same place anyway and which symbol you eventually have to press
on your german keyboard to achieve what you want shouldn’t bother you at all, I hope.

In your example case it is the Ü key and the next one to the right on your hardware.

It’s just a workaround or hack but I hope that helps ;-)))

Hi, with 1.7 we've updated keyboard commands for different language keyboards (so trim head and tail will be opt-8 and opt-9 on keyboards that don't have easy access to []) and the zoom in is modified as well. Version 1.7 is in final beta testing and we expect to release in the next 10 days.

Nice, this sound great. Then I will simply be patient for the update.
