DIY Blend Titles, Tutorial - LumaFusion - Blend Modes

This LumaFusion Tutorial shows how to create professional looking Titles in LumaFusion that use Blend Modes to seamlessly blend the Title with the background

The tutorial covers the Stencil Alpha Blend Mode, the Silhouette Luma Blend Mode, and the Screen Blend Mode to achieve the effect.

Stay tuned to the end of the tutorial where this method is compared to Chroma Key.

This tutorial was created using LumaFusion 2.3
With the release of LumaFusion 2.3 you can now multi-select and copy paste between projects.
This means that you can create an assets project containing multiple Blend Titles like the one you just created, as well as intros, lower thirds and other elements.

Cheers,

MVE

Nice tutorial video! Thank you. I've been wanting to recreate the title-sequence for Stranger-Things, and this gets close.

Being able to export with Alpha would eliminate the whole second set of steps (blending layers after importing into the new file).

Q1) Has anyone recreated the Stranger-Things title sequence and a share how-to in LF?
Q2) What's the blocker for importing/exporting video with alpha? iOS/iPadOS, or it just hasn't been added to LF yet?

I think that is doable. You get the pulsating red texture from Storyblocks or another stock footage provider. Use the method explained in this video but the letters should have the Edge visible but not the Face. As for the glow, it could be a copy of the same effect, that goes below the effect above, with Gaussian and slightly phased so the pulsations don't match.

Whoa. Ask a question and receive two video examples. I'm floored. Thank you!

Next questions (maybe for Dave): I found the reddit post about LF 2.4 and the updated color picker, but will the user be able to choose "transparent background" as a setting for the project?

Honestly, not having speed-ramping is what's keeping me from using LF regularly. If s-r will be coming soon y'all should call it V3.0 and get paid for the big bump!
