I’ve been experimenting with cameras, phones, USB mics, and Zoom recorders, trying to figure out the best workflow for shooting videos of myself singing and playing guitar.

This one is the latest. Shot with my OnePlus7 Pro and a Shure MV51 uSB mic:

This one uses the same phone, but with the Android version of Filmic Pro, and a Zoom H6 with the SGH6 shotgun mic Module pointed at my mouth and the pickup from the guitar plugged into one of the H6 mic/line inputs:

This one uses my phone for the audio and the wide shot, and a Panasonic GH4 for the closer shot. The microphone is a Shure Motiv 88+:

This one is shot in my home studio with a Zoom LiveTrack L20R recorder, and a Shure SM7B mic:

Very useful and well played.
Summertime one of my favourites, I liked your version.
Not heard that style within summer time, very refreshing.

Mic wise sunny side of the street came across clearer with richness.
Ps do more songs please
Regards Rob

Thanks for your comments. I’m still experimenting trying to figure out the best way to get good audio. On the “Sunny Side of the Street” video, I used a Zoom H6 with the SSH-6 zoom mic capsule. I had the side address feature turned all the way off so it was just a zoom mic for the vocal. I plugged the guitar pickup directly into one of the H6 mic/line inputs to record the guitar. On that guitar I have a pickup system that also blends in a mounted microphone. I also rendered a little reverb from another IOS app.

In the other videos I used different methods of recording the audio, but I also like the Zoom H6 approach best.
