The Video is to help you LF gang, to use an SD card reader as an external storage device.

That’s an Apple SD card reader Rob? It shows up in the Files app and LumaFusion?

Hello Mark,

How are you back in NZ now I guess, leaving us all here in UK with stormy weather :)

The SD card I purchased in apple store yes, the files app and LF work both work.

I have more plans to make tiny 2 min video's of how to SD .....
These include Formatting, re naming SD card and other little tips.

Regards Rob

Hi Rob. Should be in NZ but had to go to Australia for family illness. Usually sunny and hot here which for me is a bit boring and strangely oppressive! UK weather is more interesting!
I have an old aData card reader but I should get an Apple one to directly integrate with Files and LumaFusion. Old one would start getting real slow unless re-formatted which you could only do in a camera which was silly because I only used it to transfer from iPhone to iPad. Had to take a camera just to format the card!

Sounds like your a busy man Mark,
Good luck in Oz and with family.

With the SD card, I am un sure of how fast the iPad Pro is capable of sending and receiving data.
By this I mean buying the most expensive SD card, only to be slowed down by card reader, OS or iPad.

The iPad Pro first gen stated capable of USB 3 speeds.
This was the top 5 reasons for choosing the IPP.
As most of my work video's are from cameras and can be dumped into the IPP at the end of the day on site.

I can tell you that the newer SD card 2019, work a whole lot quicker than my go pro card which is 4 years old now.

So I am currently testing with 100 read and 70 write.

Regards Rob

I am and I'm not :) Dave.

Moved 152 gigs across USB drive plugged into a laptop with the SD card think 1 hr 11 mins.

Need to do this as drive failing.

IPP not able to make this happen and Gigs of images are beautiful memories I not wish to lose.

But you are correct Dave, give me a problem and I not rest until I have explored and exploted every area.
IPP not so pro maybe iPad basic is a better name.
It IPP cannot format SD cards oh dear.

Regards Rob

Hello ngeyobslash,

If it helps any, using and trying out most ideas I could come up with.
I actually favour SD cards, reasons so easy to store carry around with you.
I keep mine in a tiny jam jar, wow so easy to store.
Also no power required.

Using the camera adapter with my powered stardom HD’s. I had to switch it on, sit in one place, plug in a cable.
Kind of felt like being at a desk top.

Whole point of iPad is portability- the SD cards provide this.
Bringing in very large files very quick maybe writing at 100 megs per second.
Writing out OS issue slow super slow for say 5 gigs, 300 megs done and dusted.
This is on a iPad Pro 1st gen.

I think your have better speeds as your a 2018 something.
Ps how much is a SD 256 gigs in Philippines?

And big question here to all, do you know why they make a 256 gig and not a 280 gigs or a 240 gigs.

Regards Rob
