LumaFusion (188.8.131.52) seems to have a bug when an archive is imported as follows. The media show up in the User Media folder but can't be moved into the timeline unless a new project is created. The import also seems to create a blank project which cannot be deleted without a restart. Otherwise the following is a convenient and fast way of moving photos and videos from an iPhone to edit on an iPad.
A zip archive is an easy and fast way to transfer media from Photos on a phone straight into LumaFusion on an iPad. No iCloud, no up/downloading, no duplicates in Photos.
The easiest way to do it is use the free Workflow app (soon to be Shortcuts on iOS 12).
You can make a simple 3 action workflow:
- Select Photos (select multiple)
- Make Archive (zip)
You run the workflow on the phone, select the photos and videos you want, and when the share sheet appears you Airdrop to the iPad. The iPad will ask you which app to open in and you can choose LumaFusion. Your media will then appear in Imported Media in a new archive folder ready to use (no unzip necessary).
Here’s a link to the workflow: https://workflow.is/workflows/de2971f81 ... c05de4a062
Note: You can use the Documents app to zip media and then Airdrop. It’s a bit messier because you have copy the media first into another folder in Documents. The same bug happens in LumaFusion
I’d rewrite this as a tip if it worked cleanly
