Hi Jay, we had a known issue with black frames at start of transition that was fixed in the 1.6.7 update that was released 2 days ago. If you're still getting the issue with 1.6.7, contact us at support@luma-touch.com and we'll get a sample project from you to see if we can reproduce the issue.

It seems like you are experiencing some kind of bug; I haven’t seen this issue on LumaFusion, myself, but have encountered similar ones in Premiere Pro on the Mac. The issue is usually addressed in a later update to the software, but in the meantime, I’ve had to come up with a work around. Here’s how I’d work around the issue you’re having; move the second clip to track 2 and then just use the cross dissolve transition on the upper clip. You can bounce up and down between tracks 1 and 2 this way. It’s not optimal, but in a pinch it can let you get your project finished without having to wait for an update.

Edited to add: I didn’t see that LumaFusion folks said they’ve addressed this in the newest release. But I’ll leave my comment up in case it helps other folks come up with work-arounds if they’re on a deadline.
