Hi Alan

Key frames are the answer

Scroll to the start of your clip
Tap on your clip to highlight it
Tap on the briefcase on the right hand side (it will turn blue)
Tap on edit
Tap on the two + marks on the left hand side (they will turn blue) this is your first key frame
Slide the volume to zero (assuming you wand to fade in from zero)
Using the jog wheel move to where you want the next volume key frame
Tap the + to the right of the two that are already blue
You will get a blue dot appear
This is your second key frame
Slide the volume up for a fade in
And so on

(If you just want a simple fade in at the start you can also just drag a CrossDissolve transition over the start of the clip but key framing will give you more control)

Here’s something that I find useful. Double tap on the audio clip and set a key frame at the beginning of the audio clip. Then while you are playing the clip, adjust the volume up and down. Key frames are continuously added as you change the volume.

Hello !

A fade in transition also works to increase volume.
