As I use LumaFusion more and more, I'm more and more impressed. And occasionally I find a bug. Here's one.

I've applied a wipe transition, transitioning from the closeup of the little robot to the establishing shot somewhere else on the Ice Planet. As you can see in the attached triptic, the wipe works just fine until the last portion (the last six frames, to be exact; it's a 24 frame wipe in a 24FPS project). For some reason, the shot of the robot's face starts to darken in the last six frames of the wipe. I've made certain that there are enough frames in both shots to accommodate all 24 frames of the wipe (in fact, I have a full second and a half of tail on shot one and about that long header on the second shot). I've tried changing the length of the transition, and still about the final 1/4 of the transition starts to fade the first shot.

It seems that there's something wrong with the wipe, unless it's designed to do this. This is the first time I've used the wipe transition in LF....

It seems to happen with ALL 9 of the wipes. I keep thinking it's an optical illusion, but it's really there.

Hello everyone

yes, the thing you are seeing is a fade that is built into the wipe. This fade was added sometime ago, before we had the ability to keyframe effects, to help make subtler transitions in certain circumstances. However, I can now see that it is somewhat redundant. I've written up a bug asking for it to be removed.

Ah! Good to know it's not a bug. It does look quite nice, and I don't think I would ever have thought to do that intentionally with keyframing, but now that it's on my radar, so to speak, I may well intentionally use the effect. Thanks for being so responsive on this board!
