Here’s the “puma” video. The tiny puma is seen very briefly at 2:02. At the time we started running to get closer. It was probably over 500m away but had gone by the time we got across the valley. Some other hikers said it had walked right past them.
This was a bus trip we did in Patagonia. There were only four of us on the bus/truck and our guides loved walking and wildlife and were fantastic. Patagonia isn’t the warmest place in the world but it’s huge and really spectacular.
You’ll see some foxes in the video along with other wildlife. The condor “flying” at the end I faked but the earlier ones were real. I used my 10x zoom camera for a lot of the wildlife shots. There is one scene of a swimming penguin taken from a ferry across the Magellan Strait that I had to stabilise frame by frame in LumaFusion
