Hello person named ngeyobslash,
Bit late in here with advise for you.
However a shop in Singapore (Www.Challenger.com.sg
) (Challenger Technologies Limited)
Do sell maybe in a price range that would suit you as well as a reduced Tax import duty for sending to Philippines.
Bill has tested in depth now HHD and SSD and I agree with him on the following.
Most but not all SSD will work with a powered camera adapter. ( in my case USB Sand disks 2019 did not work)
Older styles of spinning HD’s will not work, unless they have there own power supply. ( IN my case a Stardom self powered worked)
I would look for a YouTube video where a man uses a powered USB hub called Anchor- (incorrect spelling)
He plugged in WD elements into apple camera powered adapter and it failed. (WD came on then off)
He then repeated the tests using the Anchor powered unit and WD elements did then work.
My only concerns are ngeyobslash, you buy USB Hub powered and you then find your drives do not work.
I mention this as my mac book pro says on a USB none powered drive I have, yes you guess it “not enough power “ !
Sadly apple says the computer says it works.
This was asked in store and they said yes, when I presented the apple store with iPad and my collection of HD’s that worked with some apple powered camera adapters.
They went off to get the manager and end results I was advised to contact apple and offer my findings.
I smiled and never went back.
Reminds me of the latest mac book pro re call’s due to expanding batteries and fire issues, I think these are now disallowed on some planes of not all.
I would be very great full once you do have a working solution to share your experiences here please.
PS the only other option that maybe of interest to you is.
WD mycloud work’s on Wi Fi and physical in put hard wired Ethernet port.
This might actually be a cheaper option for you.
Plus you can plug in the other HD’s in the rear of the USB port.
I often do this and piggy back all my other drives. (Including the 2019 USB Sand disk which would not work on IPad’s Gen 1 and Gen 2)
Last thought I just had a call come through I plugged in my sennheiser blue tooth head phones, using the headphone jack.
With the power off the Sennheiser head phones, they work on IPP first gen.
I thought it say Not enough power
