I try to limit my videos to 2 minutes (or 1.5 because that’s the WhatsApp limit) and I believe this is a good maximum for uninvolved audiences. Although you may be fascinated by your activity your audience probably isn’t and just want to cut to the chase.
This rule goes out the window when the audience were actively involved in the activity. They will then patiently sit though any length reliving the moments and eagerly anticipating shots of themselves.
As a side point all those instructional videos published here and on YT drive me nuts. I can pick out the 2 lines that interest me in a web page in seconds whereas tediously watching a 5 min video for the same information is painful.
In general if you are making the video for others to enjoy the shorter the better unless you really really are good. If you are making videos just because you enjoy it do what you want but don’t expect others to like them as much as you do.
Either way your videos are really good. You are lucky to have an interesting subject and your editing is good. And I’m even more nervous of ticks now!

But saying that, most of the people’s comments if not all but yours and mine suggest otherwise.
And the people in the video have yet to comment, um what to do.
Understand your 2 mins YT and 2 lines, in my tutorial videos they re educational are unlisted on a private subscription only.
Going back to the length of video, advertising on tv is a certain length due to the time frame in between the program in the uk.
An example is if the adverts are 10 mins window slot, I am zapped with 17 mins of adds.
I avoid these tv channels now.
Actually I watch mostly on the iPad in a small window documentary style and knowledge building.
What is in NZ Mark re tv and advertising in between tv programs ?
Are they perhaps 30 secs advertising window cleaning products to cable tv between tv programs?
