LumaFusion 1.7 is now available in the App Store. This update includes great new features like search and sort in the library, soft edges and curved corners in cropping, and our new integration with Storyblocks, a great royalty-free library of video, audio and sound effects. A sample of clips are included free, with a low-cost subscription available in-app for access to the full library

I finished my first project with LumaFusion, I didn't do anything fancy, manually synched the video to the soundtrack (which wasn't as bad as I had expected), simple cuts and some LUT's applied. I was concerned about colour correcting the underwater footage, but it was actually much easier than on my MacBook with Davinci Resolve. Everything was filmed on my iPhone 8 at 4k60 and slowed down 50% to fit the 30fps timeline. Underwater footage was shot on a Panasonic LX10. I used Deshake on a few underwater clips, it actually works quite well.

It is so much easier working on an iPad while on vacation rather than my old MacBook.

Hi brousseb

Nice work

This isn't a criticism but there's some discussion here on LUT's for underwater use that you might find useful/interesting

Beautiful video. Well done.
Just a suggestion. I’ve made over a hundred travel and memories videos over many years (mostly with LumaFusion although I do use Quik if I haven’t got time). Other people don’t want to see more than two minutes worth. And in fact when I look at my old videos I don’t want to sit through more than that either. There are exceptions of course but most videos without a storyline are not as special as you think at the time!

Thanks for the feedback Mark, I totally agree with you. I’ve got 30-40 travel videos and I normally keep them much shorter. Over the last year I’ve come to realize that nobody REALLY cares about my videos, at least as much as I (and my wife) do. So I’ve decided to make them longer as long as there is enough footage. I get what you’re saying, I get bored after about 1 minute from other people’s videos even if it’s totally amazing stuff;). People are going to watch 1-2 minutes whether it’s a 2 minute or 5 minute video.

The modern world and now :)

Just picking up on how long to make a video ?

I generally go for under 3 mins, then again my students re flying ask where is the part with me in.

That take it to 10 mins I tell them, guess if people are happy then they watch it all.
That is the advice from my students given to me, so now I edit for a small majority of subscribers in paragliding clips.

Liked your video and the flow of energy, yep tablet and edit its the way to go, push the IOS team to pave the future highways, long dead are the dinosaurs.

Long live the future

Regards Rob
