LumaFusion 2.0 is now available in the App Store. This is a massive new update that doubles the number of tracks for video and audio, streamlines the user interface, and much more.

I used LumaFusion’s Color Edges and Edge Work to breathe new life into some graphics from my archive. The effect is like solarization or like Andy Warhol’s silkscreen posters. I’ll attach one of the source images so you can see how radically altered they become as a result of LumaFusion. I’ll also attach a screenshot of the project to give you a sense of how all the clips are merged.

The visuals are a mashup of Surrealism, Dada, Pop Art and Op Art. The music is all GarageBand loops with a mashup of arcade, metal, Indian and techno. Headphones are recommended to hear all the sub-bass. It never ceases to surprise me how powerful the GB loops are - especially when combined like this.

I hope you enjoy watching and listening!

Tom

Pretty bland in its original form, right?

This screenshot shows the LumaFusion project. See how much the preview image has been changed from the original source image!

In addition to Color Edge and Edge Mix, I used a lot of dissolves, blends, and ChromaKey. The starting and ending images are the green background I use for rotating the 3D models on. But for the beginning and end, I dial the color saturation all the way off so they function as black clips.

Many of the video clips are simply stretched still images but with a little bit of pan/zoom to make them look like video clips.

knobbydave - Thanks! GarageBand loops can quickly make some really good sounding tracks. Rather than displace live musicians maybe it induces them to make better music than a machine LOL!
