I set myself a little project.

Take a pic local of a church cutout the background.
Add in some stormy clouds.
Foreground some mist and animate a witch.
Also animated the lights in the church windows.

I tried first in lumafusion but ran out of layers so opted for Core.

Sadly not much adjustments in Core, so dabbled and went back to lumafusion.
Exported and re imported etc.

Areas like the church, clouds x 2
Windows luminating and witch you soon run out of layers.

Here is my end result.

Any questions just ask.

I am glad you liked the video David.

Regards Rob

PS if I had another two layers and could alter these layers like darken, lighten as you do in AF.
I could do much more in areas of details.

2 more video layers anyone ? That make 5 video layers.

Hi Rob

The developers are thinking about adding more layers

But

If we all had iPad Pro's it could be done now

But

When do you exclude the people that only have lower powered machines?

And

Who wants to sacrifice real time editing/effects for slower - wait until it's rendered to see the result

So

It's not an easy decision (let alone the coding that is involved)

Interesting Dave,

These topics really interest me, if i had the knowledge (still pondering on learning)
I design and make a program like AF for tablet interface.

I often use AF on the ipad over LAN (Local area Network) to edit if i run out of layers.

At the end of the day everything will move forwards in end user and tech side.
App BBC iPlayer will not function on say an iPod 4 to cast to TV or even play.
People decided for many reasons to delete the functions on older style hand held devices.
At the time it annoyed me, however i did find a secret method to get around this issue.

At the time I can remember why not have one version for older models and one for the newer.
Choices are their for the buyer, subscriber.

Just bouncing ideas around if one had a choice of here is version one of app LF.
6 video time lines or 3 video time lines, which would the user go for ? (Anyone feel free to answer)

If say 6 video time lines you require a latest tablet ......
If you do not need this buy older style which has many functions, with 3 time lines.

Ps my perfect working tablet is a A3 in size has anti smudge screen.

Regards Rob

I would enjoy 5 layers !
Also enjoy a better way to edit audio.

I would also enjoy being able, on my ipad pro, open a .aep transition file, then save as mp4.

Looking forward to many more Luma Fusion updates that leverages the ipad pro.

How about a few lines of if/else code that sniffs out if we have an iPad Pro?

Yep it’s basically that simple as far as my coding knowledge goes (I’m not a developer) and I have done a fair bit of coding in the past

Who is going to deal with all the people that can still only get 3 tracks of video and there’s gonna be more of them than have pro’s would be my guess

If it was your app, how would you do it?

I know that’s not a decision I would like to make :D

Very good question David you have asked.

For me I use a personal experience to explain the answer.
For many years I have taught people to fly, often I become frustrated at the amount of people that would start and drop out.

So I spilt the school into a basic camp ran by my instructors and a dedicated smaller group, which is now called Pilot Pro.

In the end I dropped the basic camp side of the school, saved a huge amount in overheads.
Now only teaching qualified pilots.
I can push the boundaries of tuition and take people into unknown life experiences.
Attention to detail and a commitment is required on both sides.

Upsides are less stress, more time with family and i now turn away business, equally the bank account has more funds as customers tend to stay with me for a longer period of time.

If I use this to compare LumaFusion many will buy the app, how many will continue to use LumaFusion in the future.
Will depend on their circumstances and needs, however a one time purchase of an app with constantly updating is a surprise.

As this must put a lot of time and drain on resources.

Here’s my prediction tablets will either die out or mould into the future use by 89% of users.
I am hoping another software from now where, enters the market and provides what end users wish for.

Currently tablets are under powered, so their only get quicker if people ask.
But then again many cars come with a cigar lighter in 2018 !

So manufacturers tend to listen to themselves while standing in front of a mirror.
Or people like to have a cigar lighter perhaps ?

So why not make a poll here Dave and ask users of LumaFusion what would you like more time lines, camera tracking, 2 D etc.

Gather some more information and analysis data to make a business solution to the needs of others your customers.

My needs are not everyone’s else’s needs, I put myself in a smaller percentage of users.
Who will always ask for more, or find ways to over come a problem.

Ps if it costs more but covers my needs I am happy to pay.
After all you cannot buy time back and doing anything on the cheap incurs your time spent.

Regards Rob

If it were my app, I would promote it as an added benefit:

"And for those of you with an iPad Pro - we have great news... you get triple the number of editing tracks!"

I am certain 99.99999% of those with iPhones would understand an iPad Pro is more powerful and can handle the needed resources.
