This LumaFusion tutorial shows how to create a Free Fall Transition.

The transition simulates the effect of a video clip being dropped from above the top of the screen, free falling, bumping into the bottom of the screen, rebounding once and then coming to rest, filling the screen.

The effect is different from sliding a video from the top of the screen in the fact that when sliding a video, the speed with which the clip slides down is uniform, while in free fall, there is acceleration, so the speed with which the video falls increases with every frame.

Thanks,

MVE

Keith,

Thank you very much for your comment!

I’m working on additional ideas based on Physics and Trigonometry which I’ll be sharing in the next few weeks.

Please allow me to take this opportunity to thank you and the whole team at LumaTouch for creating and constantly improving LumaFusion.

I’m looking forward to seeing the next batch of innovations you’ll be bringing into the product.

Regards,

MVE
