A few notes about my process which I hope make sense... The intro combines Noir, Big Pinch, Blur, and Zoom all fading up from a black still. Pixite’s Matter iOS app allows one to rotate a stock preset object and either reflect the background or a completely different foreground image from the camera roll. The reflected image can be either solid, wrapped, or transparent (among others). For this video I imported some custom objects found on Free3D dot com. For the falling Tardis-Figr spacestation, I rotated the object on a black background and reflected an image from my camera roll. (Curiously, the rendering of this 15 second clip in Matter took over an hour!)

Throughout the video I used the following techniques. First, for the scenes where a rotating object changes its reflected image I used the same background and same object but with three different reflected foreground images in Matter to produce three different 15 second clips. These clips were then layered as blends in LF using the keyframed opacity control to fade in the new clip. Then I copied the blend clip into the main video track and layered it again but now with the third clip and blended the opacity as above. (It’s not nearly as hard as it might sound.)

Secondly, to transition between different animated objects on the same background, I layered a video clip (actually just a still stretched into a video) without a rotating object so that the first clip would fade out into the background still and the new, second object would fade up from the still.

The background scenery - the candy architecture - was also done with Matter but this time using the ability to add multiple, reflected objects to my still image.

That’s probably way more jibber jabber than you wanted to hear so plug in headphones, set YT to HD and have a listen/watch! I hope you enjoy it!
