I used a separate camera and my iPhone. Don't usually bother with a camera but useful for telephoto and sometimes a second angle. I park the camera on a wee bean bag on a post.
Deliberately recorded the whole band piece with the idea of making it a background track but most of the time phone was pointed at the ground to avoid making them uncomfortable!
The weather wasn't great so must thank Pat for holding the umbrella and also some great shots from the car.
It's quite fun playing hopscotch with the train and we are lucky to live in a scenic place with quiet roads near the railway. Pity the snow covered mountains were hiding!
The edit still isn't perfect but you've got to stop sometime and only you guys will notice. Should have stabilised some shots and there is a volume glitch where I truncated the music track. You will spot a fair bit of dubbed audio to make it flow. The side on shots of the speeding train for example had terrible wind noise. Also the band shots but at least the drum beat could be synced.
And just in case anyone is worried we drive on the left. The driver wasn't filming! And it's New Zealand not Scotland!
