Another video I made for work.
I used my iPhone SE and Filmic Pro. I tried using the log colour but I don't think I will again. I just couldn't get the colour looking right. Then again, I'm useless at colour grading.
I still had to use my laptop to transfer the audio files from my lav mic/zoom h1 combo.
My iOS card reader is on a slow ship from china so that will iliminate the need for my old laptop soon.
Last note is I upload all my footage to Dropbox first then import it back into Luma. The reason for this is so that I can delete all my footage once I'm done with it and export the project archive. If I need to make future revisions I just download the footage and project again. I've read posts saying that if you edit the video with the files in the photos app the archive export can be buggy.

Hello Officially.Colin

thanks for posting your video and giving your comments.

The use of log profiles will get easier when LumaFusion 1.4 is released. It will contain LUTs that will really help out in getting a fantastic looking image.
Remember that the use of a Log profile is intended to allow you to have more control over white clipping and to reduce noise in dark areas. The image, as viewed on the camera, is going to look somewhat dull and lifeless since it is lacking in contrast (and probably saturation too). So in post you either add the corresponding LUT (1.4 release) or add contrast and saturation. That ought to do it as a starting point.

regards

Androu Morgan

Is 1.4 still scheduled for this month?
I've spent years using Premiere Pro and FCPX and I'd love to give some of the beta versions a go.

Hi Colin,
If you have not seen this document yet, read it. This will help to properly prepare for the shooting, in order to get the best result.
And, by the way, log is for iPhone 7.
