I made this short video for work on Friday evening. It's a little rough as I was strapped for time and got it all recorded in about 10 minutes to edit when I got home. Otherwise I'd have gotten much better b-roll.

It was all filmed on my iPhone SE using Filmic Pro then air dropped to my iPad.
I uploaded the files to Dropbox, as it's my preferred back up method, and imported the video from there into luma. I did this so I have a neat folder in the imported section with everything I need.
The logo in the bottom corner is just a .png image with a transparent background.

For audio I used a zoom h1 in my pocket with a lav mic. Unfortunately the only way to get the audio into luma is by uploading it to Dropbox with my laptop. It's in mono because of the mic I use so I convert it to stereo (or dual mono) using an app called Hokusai 2. The free version does the job.

One solution I have thought about is to use my old iPhone 4 as the audio recorder then airdrop the files to my iPad. Too bad the iPhone 4 doesn't support airdrop as I won't always be on wifi to email it to myself. At least I'll have my iPhone SE for that purpose next time I upgrade.

There's definitely a lot of features I miss from FCPx and Premiere Pro but, mainly custom transition presets, but so far so good. Big jobs will be done on my PC but for small things like this my entire workflow will be iOS based.

P.S. sorry for the long post.

Hello Officially.Colin

actually, thanks for the lengthy explanation. Very useful to know what people are doing out their in the real world. The video is great too, thanks for sharing it.

So I guess the issue is really getting the H1 audio into LumaFusion in some sort of a convenient way.
I did find this article interesting, I've not tested it, but it might be worth investigating.

I just realized that the wifi SD card won't work since it's full size.

Another suggestion is the use of a western digital wireless drive with SD card reader built in. It's a more expensive option. I've never tried it though. Anyone else?

A micro SD with wifi would be pretty awesome.

I don't know if I'd be willing to invest in yet another drive just for the sake of getting audio off of a card.
I've seen there is some kind of new file manager in iOS 11. I'd wonder if apple will allow the import of files as well as just photos and videos with the sd card reader. But honestly I doubt they would ever do that as it just means people would load songs into their phones without using iTunes

Doing a little bit of searching the web for wifi cards and i found micro sd to full sd wifi adaptors.
When the card is in a camera it uses the cameras power source to power the wifi.

I wonder if I bought a cheap micro sd wifi adaptor from china to test, would it work if I plugged the wifi card into a usb card reader and then the reader into a portable 500ma power supply. a card reader and power supply are two things i always carry in my bag anyway.
The power banks only have the power connections wired up and not the data transfer connections.

It should work and not fry the card.

Hello Officially.Colin

probably won't work from with the ZSUN app. It's all a question of what the ZSUN app allows you to do. It doesn't look like the app will let you look at the SD cards file and folder directory (could be wrong). If it does, then you would tap the mp3 file and select 'open in' LumaFusion.

I can do this with the iXpand drive, but i have to use a mac to get the H1 files onto the iXpand drive in the first place.

let me know if you try it

A long as the app lets me "send to luma" them I'm happy with that.
Also, its not something thats going to break the bank if it doesn't work out.
I've ordered one so it will probably take the best part of a month to get to Ireland from China so if I remember this thread I'll update it when the card reader arrives.

Hi everybody,
I would not put much hope in the utilities of Apple itself, in particular on File.app in iOS11.
People in this thread tried it and confirmed that it does not work.

A more modern model of a cheap wi-fi card reader is the DM C1 WFD011.
Cheap Wi-Fi cardreaders made in China use the same file manager as ZSUN, and I did not find evidence of the possibility of importing the file into LF or AudioShare.

Unfortunately, Sandisk no longer produces such devices with internal card reader.
But there is Leef iAccess iOS microSD Reader, which works through the MobileMemory application, and this app can send files from the card to other applications (see screenshots from the friend's iPhone).

Another way is to connect the Zoom H1 (v2.0) by USB cable to the iPhone via the Apple Camera Connection Kit, as in this video:
