Hi guys, sorry if this topic has come up before but I had a quick search and couldn’t find anything...

I really like using the iPad Pro and gnarbox 2.0 to edit on LumaFusion.

I like the way you can import a section of a clip wirelessly from the gnarbox, without having to pull across the whole clip.

There is talk of iPad apps like LF being able to run natively on macs with the new M1 chip and I wondered if it is likely to be able to interface with the gnarbox in the same way?

I've just bought the M1 Mac Air and Luma-Fusion was one of the first apps I tried to install.

It looks like the team have decided not to make it available on the Mac for the moment.

Hopefully they have some secret plans in the works 8-)

Hi Topvid

I’ve got LumaFusion on my Mac Mini (use the iPad version for now)

I haven’t had chance to try it with my Gnarbox yet. Hopefully I will get time to try it in the next few days

Really? I wonder why it never showed for me. I'll take another look and try again. I've never owned a Mac before and haven't owned a computer for about 4 years so this is all new to me lol

Duh!

I didn't realize that on the Mac the Appstore has two tabs. The default tab for Mac apps and a second tab for the iPhone/iPad apps.

I now have Luma-Fusion installed on my Mac Air M1.

This is exciting, I had a quick go of cutting video using the trackpad, I'm sure it's going to be slower in the beginning using a trackpad and keyboard, maybe always so since the app is designed for touchscreen.

However, I was thinking that you could setup an iPad as a second screen and edit video on your Mac using the iPad touch screen? Resulting in the best of both worlds? Touchscreen for editing and the power of the Mac for compiling the final video.

This is exciting. I'm sorry but I don't have a Gearbox to test but looking at the website I don't see any reason why it wouldn't play nice. I'm looking forward to reading about Dave's experiences. That could become another gadget to add to my wishlist.

Hi Guys, I spoke to Chris at Luma Touch support and got the following reply:

While I expect this will work (since GNARBOX is just an internet API), right now it won't because the drag-and-drop functionality to select GNARBOX as a source/destination is not working on the M1. We're currently working on a LumaFusion update that will include a number of fixes for issues occurring on the M1 Macs.

They hope to have this working by the end of the year.

Sam
