Can lumafusion do the following?

Example:
I record someone running.

I then would like export that entire video, of the person running... onto my ipad or iCloud as individual images, showing the frame by frame.

If so, how do I go about this?

thank you

Hi LumaFusion Student

I'm the forum moderator

Here's the answer:

No

... well not with any automation

You can zoom in to a single frame and LF can save that single frame
You can step forward or back ward frame by frame
But it would take forever

(I was hoping someone would know something on the interweb that might do it)

EDIT:

Google came up with this

Hello there LumaFusion student,

I can answer your question, but first “ So nobody can answer this? Not even forum moderator?”
This may come across in the wrong way to others.

The time frame to answer people’s questions will be down to the time they have available and knowledge base available.
Generally I work with 10 days turn around, hopefully finding an answer myself, but I also keep looking at how can I achieve my goals.
I be making a post soon. (you maybe be able to answer )

To answer your questions, I like a little more as to what you are wishing to do.
In LumaFusion I would connect a keyboard use the arrows to move 1 frame at a time.
Use take a snap shot and continue until done. (use the background and select green if required)

Other probably apps are core animator Which can export png see image.
Before you buy tell me 110 % what your aims goals are first please.
I’m more than happy to try it out for you in core animator first.

Regards Rob

Thank you guys.

@Rob,
I was not aware response rate being days to 10 days. I come from forums where people respond within hours.
4 days elapsed after my original post which prompted me to ask for mod help. I apologize for my conditioning getting the better of me.

My thought process regarding my request:
As sophisticated as luma presents itself online, with the huge amount of youtubers and other entities creating shaders and templates for it - I thought what I was asking for... was a feature already in luma.

In my mind, what I was asking - was already a feature in luma that I couldn’t find, but surely the mods would know and will point me the way.

Little was I aware, it is not a feature, and required you guys to do some searching on your end, to find a way to help me. Apologies for my second post coming across negative and thank you for the help.

The project I am working on
For game development. Here are the steps, I am trying to accomplish:

1) Record footage of a person running.
2) We then take that footage, and export it via still images.
3) We then use those still images to create our pixel art character animation (by tracing over the still images)
4) We then import those images into the game we are working on and check the animation plays smoothly.

The youtube video I am linking below, shows what I am trying to do. Fast forward to the 2:35mark.
Person in the video is a game developer, on a budget, I like I am. He expresses vividly what I am trying to do.

Hello LumaFusion Student,

Nice video on the history of animation rotoscoping you provided.

LumaFusion Student,
I like some more information on what hardware you have access to please ?
At the moment I am thinking you are working with the person in the video and have access to desktop computer and wondering why you do not just use the associated desktop programs that are dedicated for they're purpose.

In OS candy land which is what I presume you have access to ? being a iPad Pro bigger screen? etc.

Lumafusion cannot export single images of say 100 frames. (it is not design that way, it is like final cut)
You could use the export a single image and move forwards 1 frame and repeat.

Issues would be all images exported from LF end up in app photo, how would you export these images in order to say a desktop ? (OS is not a very good file structure at the best of times)

If you are restricted to OS candy land, then I would opt, import your video and import into app flip a clip or app motion.

Both will give you a time line with all your video spit into single frames and you can then draw over the video and export.

In much the same way that is shown in the video you provided.
App filp a clip and motion support layers and copy paste functions, no drag and drop.

Regards Rob

Yes sir,

I am working in iOS candy land. No desktop. I am using Codea a game development engine on iPad Pro. So keeping the conversation with iOS candyland...

Are you suggesting I pick up one of the apps you advised?
• Flip a Clip
• App Motion

I bought Core Animator - it seems pretty cool, I guess not applicable for what I am doing?

No I do not know the guy in the YouTube video. I follow his channel for I am creating a game within the similar vein. A low budget - pixel art game. Which I am doing for studies. Learning game programming on the go.

Thank you Rob

Hello LumaFusion Student,
(Ps you can always give your real name :)

Now that I have a better understanding of your aims and goals.
And maybe the limitations of Hardware, here is my advise.

iPad screen 12.9- I suggest FlipAClip app so long as you have a pencil to draw ?

Motion app, I have and use, however lacks screen rotation and thats 110 % DRAW back in drawing !

FlipAclip more interactive company they have competitions, ideas, forum, on the ball.
Just like LF.

Below is an example of FlipAclip in rotoscoping.
I post a Motion app example as they have some areas you maybe interested in, like stop motion.

FlipAClip dedicated to rotoscoping, which I suggest would be a more suitable investment for your needs.
