is usb 3 on iPad Pro fast enough to work of external Drive. Now that we have access to external drives. Will luma fusion eventually be able to to read off an external drive instead of having to import footage to iPad in a future update.

The question is that which company USB you're using?

Hello ticcthesoulrebel,

Great questions to ask, if I was using a desktop and FCpro all files remain on external HD’s.
I mark my in and out points bring in what I needed etc.

Gnarbox owner has replied to me in the past saying yes in and out points are supported on iPad’s in LumaFusion.

Dave have you gone and bought a gnarbox 2 now ? Do tell.

ticcthesoulrebel, not sure this help, but here is my solution to an external video / image media library contains around 750 gigs.

I use the WD my cloud and this is supported by LumaFusion.

Regards Rob

Yes that correct Rob

With a Gnarbox 2 you view the clip in the edit window, select the in/out points and drag it to the timeline

Only the marked portion will be imported

Cool Dave,

Can you piggy back Mac formatted HD’s through the Gnare box USB port?
And still mark in and outs ?

Which SSD size did you purchase?
Regards Rob

You can certainly piggyback drives

Not sure about in outs (I will try it, hopefully tomorrow, and report back)

I’ve got a 1tb drive

Interesting so I can now plug in a USB self powered HD into the Gnarbox and read files in LumaFusion?
Do you have app file browser Dave. (not the OS file browser)

Can you read RAW images off these drives being the ones plugged into gnarbox?

No rush.

Regards Rob
Ps all my drives are none SSD and Mac formatted- 1 TB costs how much and where from please.
