Hello there,

I have an iPad Pro 10.5 and a GoPro hero 7 black, currently it’s too complicated to manage footage, either I use gopro app that I can trim before importing but I need to copy twice to have it in my device and then import it to video app like iMovie, splice, quik or I use my sdcard adapter but I can’t trim before so I should import the whole footage often really large (several giga) to my devise and then trim it.

So my question : is it possible with luma to preview a footage from an sdcard adapter and trim it directly to import in Lima ?

Have a good day

I might be wrong because I never use big files like that but I believe LumaFusion will always try to import the entire file. Maybe you can view the file in the Files app on the SD card (ios13), trim it there and save this into LumaFusion/UserMedia.

Mark is correct

At the moment LF will import the whole clip

(Unless it’s from a Gnarbox)

Mark’s workaround is the best for now if you’re tight on space

Hello,

Thank you for the fast answer, so I didn't know what was a gnarbox and seeing the price it won't be my choice ....

Could you suggest an app for trim on the SD card?

Hello igals,

I have used in the past an app free for converting video into other forms of media.
It also allowed in and out points (trim ) before exporting.

I used this when I filmed on a phone.
Then air drop to iPad.
Like you importing gigs is not what I wish to do.

The app I do not use anymore as I am mainly go pro and osmo based now.
I have a look on the App Store and see if I can find what I bought before.
If I find this app, I share here, I also try with SD card trim and import to iPad and update my results.

Regards Rob
