Rob you can pick it up and then use the preview bar to scroll instead of the timeline. If you are moving to somewhere in the middle it helps to put a marker there. If moving lots of clips put a marker at the source position too.
I must admit I didn’t know this. I just tried it now and it worked. Woohoo

Just quick and dirty: with one finger holding a clip you wanted to move to the end, with the other doubleclick the skip-forward-Button in the preview windows...

I can't show an example because I don't have an account in YouTube, but I think you will understand my idea! :D

Brilliant Hans. That works too. Interestingly single tapping doesn’t seem to do anything but that doesn’t matter.
