Did you hear apparently you can add a SSD flash drive to your iPad restricted to 256 gigs.

Simply plug in and your see like the desktop Mac side a file list with video - images supports psd to tiff formats.

Even supports image preview as in a thumb size which you can hold and see a bigger preview before importing.

So this be very much like the file system in your desktop Mac.

This newer iOS is now called Mac OS for iPad.

The usb connector kit comes in three different colours red, grey ivory and lime green.
The price of the connector will be announced soon.

“It adds support for USB thumb drives and the ability to import photos directly from a camera”

So of course I am kidding about the above.

Questions like import directly from your camera, well anyone with an adapter kit can do this already.
Or empty contents into a WD or Gnarbox wifi over.

Usb thumb dives I have a few, I have library of HD 3.5 inch drives, be nice to plug these in.

Are we saying usb thumb drives drag and drop both ways ?

What does anyone know ?

Regards Rob

I’ll have to see how it’s actually implemented (you never know with apple), but based on what I see on, there is full file management on the iPad when IOS13 comes out. Including thumb drive and external hard drive support. The Files app will also let you save locally anywhere on your iPad and allow you to create folders. That’s pretty exciting!

To be it read and write or not to be, that is the question...

Like what Atapos said, if we can write then it’s golden. is a little vague saying that it can “connect”. Well I can connect (sort of) now and read from any USB drive, I’d like the ability to write.

Looks like it’s read and write to external drives!
