just updated 1.3 and seem to have totally lost the ability to delete clips in my project since the arrow that used to sit on the left side of the preview window is gone, and the info arrow lower right has only a greyed-out trash can.

not finding updated youtube help. thanks if you are smarter than i am

Hi Jim,

If the imported media is not used in any project you can tap on the clip, open the info panel (bottom right of preview) and then use the trashcan. If the thumbnail in the Library has a grey checkmark it is used in a different project, and a white checkmark means it is used in the current project and then it can’t be deleted within the app.

If you need to delete imported media and don’t care that your project will not work unless you re-import it, then you have to use iExplore on your Mac to access the UserMedia folder of LumaFusion. I am going to look into changing this behavior and allow people to delete with a warning.

PS. Media from the photos app must be deleted in the Photos app.

teri, thank you for your commitment to your product and our industry.

just deleted LF, power cycled the ipad2 iOS current version, reinstalled LF leaving all settings at default, created new video clip with camera app to camera roll, created new project in LF, imported clip from camera roll, timeline is blank, trash can is still greyed-out in info window.

new clip created in filmic pro set to save in camera roll. same result.

HOWEVER, new clip saved in filmic pro library, then imported into LF project DOES have functional trashcan.

just replicated entire process to confirm that clips coming from camera roll are not deletable in LF, and clips imported from FP library are deletable. and, yes, clips deleted in the photo app are deleted in LF preview, so maybe that's the fix i'm looking for.

thanks for all you guys do.

life goes on

Thank you for your kind words.

Yes, that is the way it works. We don't delete media from the Photos app - we just give you access to the media to work with.
