On the iPad if you are manually stabilising clips with multiple key frames use the iOS zoom magnifier on the preview. This will provide a lot more precision. With care you can even use part of the zoom window as a reference point instead of an overlay image or sticker. Turn zoom on in iOS settings - accessibility.

It's all a bit tricky to do but manual stabilising is sometimes all you can do for those telephoto shots taken in high winds or when you tried to track a flying bird!

Luma team: this could maybe be developed into a killer feature!

Hello Mark NZL,

Very interesting. In general, we do plan on having a Video Stabilization feature down the road. No firm date for that at the moment.

But it's awesome to see the LumaFusion community discovering unique workarounds.

Best,

I use the Deshake App as my personal workaround. It works suprisingly well. Cost a few bucks, but definitely worth it :)

But I'm also happy to hear, that the Luma Team is developing a Video Stabilization Tool :)

I use Emulsio app. It has recently been updated for latest iPad Pro. Emulsio has many settings so that you can fix nearly any stabilizing problem. The cinematic setting produces a very smooth result.

Then export directly to LumaFusion.

Filmic Pro (free app) has a real-time stabilization feature that works pretty well.

Filmic Pro just allows you to turn OFF the stabilization on an iPhone, the default camera app has it enabled all the time with no ability to turn it off.

I have both Deshake and Emulsio, if you're using 1080, then Emulsio has more options to play with, however for 4k footage it will severely reduce the bitrate (look at your before after file sizes).

Deshake has less options, but keeps the original file size/bitrate. With only a slight reduction due to the cropping needed for digital stabilization. Another benefit of Deshake is that you have the ability to replace the original clip (assuming you backed up the original) so you don't have to re-import into LF and replace the clip on your timeline.

I've been pretty happy with Deshake, but obviously having built in stabilization into LF would be ideal.
