Hello !

I am looking for LUTS to correct colors of some underwater videos.

Do you know where I could test some for free ? (I'd like to test before paying...)

Thank you !

Hi,

Keep in mind that a LUT is just a coating on the video you’ve got. They’re usually designed to be applied to footage that’s already been “color corrected” and is then ready to be “color graded” — i.e. given a specific look.

If you haven’t already done a search on YouTube and watched some tuts on color correction, do that. Also, download Davinci Resolve (for free) and do some correcting on it, even if you don’t intend to ever really do much work in it. By following tutorials, learning how to use scopes, and how to do basic corrections, you’ll learn a ton, which you’ll be able to apply in Luma or whatever other programs you might use.

And then we can pray for scopes in Luma someday...someday...

Try the app Video LUT.

It will allow you to create and export LUTs that can then be imported into LumaFusion.

I've created some LUT's in Davinci Resolve that I use in LumaFusion. One acts as a red filter (for blue water) and the other like magenta (for greenish water). It was created using footage from around 50 feet. What I do is apply the LUT to my footage, then adjust the strength based on what looks good, then make other minor adjustments, it takes only a few seconds per clip.

Here is the dropbox link if you wanted to download them: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wcoukqgzli6x ... -F-a?dl=0

Here is sample video I just did using those LUTs and technique:
