LumaFusion 1.7 is now available in the App Store. This update includes great new features like search and sort in the library, soft edges and curved corners in cropping, and our new integration with Storyblocks, a great royalty-free library of video, audio and sound effects. A sample of clips are included free, with a low-cost subscription available in-app for access to the full library

I'm enjoying learning to use LumaFusion but I can't work out how I can apply animated effects to titles.

Hi Chunter

Welcome to the forum

The tutorials aren't ready yet so ...

Select your title by tapping on it, then tap the effect button bottom right hand side with the star in

Next, to animate you will need to use keyframes

Without a keyframe the effect will remain static for the whole clip

So move to the place where you want a change to take place and tap on the 'jog wheel'
Make your change
You will get a 'blue dot' appear
This is the keyframe where the next change will happen
The effect will change smoothly from keyframe to keyframe

Hope that makes sense

(there may be an easier way, but that's how I do it)

This is an awesome app.
Applying efx to a text layer is a great way to achieve good results, but the can seem a bit static. I hope keyframe animation will be possible inside the title layer itself. To animate the text and the graphic shapes individually etc.

Hi yaknepper

Welcome to the forum

That is something I don't think I would use myself but I could see a lot of people having a use for it!

Chris, Terri, Androu - is this possible??

Hi knobbydave

Thanks.

This would be a great addition to an already awesome app.

So yes, Chris, Terri, Androu - Is this possible?

Great App, but this is sorely missing! I spent a few hours last night and a few more this morning trying to fly in staggered titles from off screen. I was going to try ten or so!

I first tried with multiple tracks and discovered that there is a limit to the number of video tracks. Then I tried to create a custom title, but still didn't work. I created two png image files in another app (Bez, if you are curious) imported one, animated it, imported the other which was now stuck to the first image.

I realize I set out to test the capabilities and limitations. And I found a limitation. LumaFusion is the best editing app I have found. Keyframes frikkin' rule. I just want more!

Question: Is this a capability in the FX app? Can I use the FX app to creat custom animated titles? Product description in the App Store made no mention of text.

I guess what I really want is something like AfterEffects for the iPad. If I had this capability, i could probably give up on desktops entirely.

Ya, I was hoping that too. See http://forums.luma-touch.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5002
