I inadvertently removed some media for a project in LumaFusion and want to relink the media. I imported the files via OneDrive again but have to assume they need to be in the exact same location as the old files in the UserMedia folder structure. Is there any way to determine the path these files need to be in? I can't seem to get LumaFusion to recognize that the files are there.

If not, better tools for re-linking media would be helpful in the future. Thankfully, I've exported this project and was simply doing this as an excessive for the future when this might be an issue.

Apple adds an 'internal filename' which is not the same every time and why you can't do it the way you were trying

Exporting and Importing is the best way (as you've found out)

I just had this same experience, im going to have to re edit the files I moved to a folder I suppose.

The files are still complete, just in a new location. Is there really no way to re-link them?

I wonder moving forward would it be complicated to select the clip on the timeline and then select the file that belongs within that edited spot?

Your project will still be intact so if you know what clip went where justdrag the media back from its new location

It’s a pain, but it’s the way Apple do it unfortunately

Just to emphasize Dave's last comment, here's my experience.

If you have missing media in your timeline just return it to the appropriate subfolder (i.e., OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive, etc.) in the LumaFusion UserMedia folder and it will automatically relink to the timeline without loss of any edits (e.g., Color & Effects, Size, Keyframes, etc). You might have to shut LumaFusion down and reopen to see the relinks.

Here's an update for people using SD cards as an "external drive" under iOS 13.

I deleted a long clip that was split in several parts, scattered throughout this project. Unlike the prior situations on this thread, this clip was imported via the external drive facility that iOS 13 now has. The clip was still in the same place on my external drive.

I went back into my project, went to the folder on the SD card that held my clip, and double tapped on the clip. The entire clip was inserted as additional footage into the timeline, which I didn't want. However I hit the "undo" icon and my project was back the way I wanted it. The import process for the clip continued, and in a short time my missing footage was back where it belonged.

I to some how either I clicked on something or a glitch happened but all my files got unlinked. Now, maybe somehow one fill got deleted but I can not see how all my files got deleted or moved. I see all my Files in my Photos folder/app. I am going to have to see if I can manually like them again but this is a pain and a lot of time wasted. Double clicking on the area where the video clip should be did not do anything. Also it looks like even my titles became unlinked. I will upload a screen shot.

I figured it out. Some how I tapped on one of the icons on the screen that switched videos. And loaded a different video. I found this out when I went to start a new video. It showed me the other videos I could reopen. And I reopened the correct video and everything was there as it should be.

However for those of you who really need a solution to un-linked files.

I had my clips on an external drive and must admit that I don't know the reason for the break-up.
It had been a long time since I worked on this timeline ... probably I re-organized some folders?

Anyway ... what solved my problem was ...

Just drag the original clip from the browser to the different cut up clips in the timeline and select "REPLACE MISSING MEDIA" from the pop-up menu. In my case it selected the exact part of each of those cuts.
