I have a series of LUTs unzipped into a directory on my WD Wireless Passport* and try to import these LUTs through the iOS FILES interface but although they can be seen they are all “greyed out” and can’t be selected for import. BUT if I use the WD interface I am able to see, and import, the LUTs. Could you explain how the support for WD works and why it’s not supported through FILES.

* I thought that I should add that unlike many other comments on here I find my WD Wireless Passport works very well, and is quick and reliable although my initial learning curve was challenging.

I get a lot of stuff 'greyed out' when I'm using the files app with both my WD Passport and my Gnarbox

Can you copy them to your iThing (anywhere) just using the files app alone?

(And yeah my WD drive works alright too)

Yes, Lightroom and Photoshop, for example, work perfectly.

BTW ... I restarted both my iPad and Passport to see if that cleared the problem and it didn’t. I’m on iOS 13.3.1 and LumaFusion 2.2.1.1103

I tried on a second iPad and I get a slightly different problem. Although I’m connected to MyPassport through FILES and can access the .cube files through FILEs I receive a logon request and authentication error, even if I. Enter the correct password. Thus ...

I suspect this is an iOS issue. If you can see these files in Files app In Recent mode then you can still install them. Change back to browse, they grey out and they will no longer import. It seems file types are 'associated' with certain apps (within Files app) preventing other apps reading them. I’ve had same issue with Affinity products, uninstalling some apps changed associations and fixed it. Others have had to do that to. The last Lumafusion update took away Lumas association to LUTs but Affinity now has no issues. :o
