I have an idea to increase the reference monitor/preview screen (I'm aware you can make it full screen)

On my iPad 10.5", it is really small. I upgraded to a 12.9" which is better, but for my personal use (I only a couple of video tracks) there is still a lot of redundant screen space.

It would be awesome to have another UI layout option which only displays 2-3 tracks, and increased the preview screen/monitor. Please see the photos below/attached for example (a 2min Photoshop job, excuse the errors, but you should get the basic idea) :)

Good idea. Nice mock up. I often work in portrait orientation for this reason.
I’m pretty sure they will have considered this already though. The devil is often in the detail eg moving the source buttons or viewing the clips in details view. You have to try to keep it consistent across all the possible variations.
Come to think of it the portrait orientation would be improved if the library window had two columns instead of just one very wide one.
And while we’re at it I’d probably prefer the biggest possible preview in the edit window. :D
