Hello dear community,

Very happy with LumaFusion with my iPad Pro ! Just a little question. I made a project in LumaFusion, with iPhone X rushes (full HD format filmed with FilmicPro app). When I export the project with Luma, I am a bit disappointed by the weight of the file !! : for a 4 minutes project, the H264 file (full HD, Standard (24Mbps)) is about 900 Mo. This is non-sense... Of course I can choose for H265 (in full HD, Standard 15Mbps) but then the file is still so big : 600 Mo.

I cannot imagine the size of the file for a 52 minutes project then...

Any recommendation to get a reasonable size file with good quality ? Or should I export in Luma with no compression and then use another app for compression ?

Many many thanks for your precious help.

Pierre

Hi pimke

Can you provide a screenshot of your export settings?

Hi Pierre

Thanks for the screenshot

Nothing wrong with the settings that I can see

The file size is an estimate only (and varies with accuracy)

What is the size of your actual file that is exported?

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your reactions !

Was just wondering why a 5 minutes film is taking so much place after export... With those settings (H264 file, full HD, Standard (24Mbps)) the file is about 900 Mo which is, according to me, normally the size for a full movie of 1hour, no ?

Or maybe should I lower the encoding bitrate ?

Pierre

Are you sure you don’t have some forgotten clip or element way on the right of the timeline? I’ve done that before and ended up with a huge file. A short video followed by a bunch of empty space, and then some little clip or title at the end of it all!

24 mbps x 5 minutes = 900 MB (24 mbps == 3 MB/s, 5 min == 300 seconds, 3x300 == 900 MB)

Are you saying that your 5 minute file is 900 MB? At 24 mbps this makes sense. If you want a smaller file, reduce the bitrate as you suggested.
