Hi folks

I’m having a problem importing JPEG images from IOS Photos. In the Media Picker preview window, the image looks fine (crisp and sharp), but after I drag it to a video track, the quality deteriorates noticeably.

I found a similar problem on this forum from a few months back, but in that case the user found that he’d been trying to import raw images, but this isn’t the case for me - these are images taken on my iPhone and synced to my iPad via the IOS photo stream thing.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to process the images before importing them?

Welcome to the forum

Are your images on your device 'full size'?

I know they should be but there is an 'Optimise iThing Storage' which says:

'If your iThing is low on space, full resolution photos and videos are automatically replaced with smaller, device-sized versions'

(I expect you're now going to tell me you have about 80 gig free :D :D )

Quick update in case it helps anyone with the same problem - although the photos looked lo-res when played back in the timeline, they rendered into video just fine (at Extreme).

Hi Andrew

You can change the ‘preview quality’ under Global Settings

It won’t affect the output quality but you may see a slight slowdown while editing with your device

I tried to change the JPEG Quality but suddenly after that chrome keeps crashing and not opening at all. Please help me to fix the problem.

If you like a better quality in the time line, change this parameter.
I don’t understant what chrome has to do with your project and LF ;)
