Hi Folks,
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what "Limiting Amount" does in the limiter effect. I understand attack and release and see Pre-Gain let's me set the level I want my output to be - but nothing seems to happen with Limiting Amount no matter what the setting - can anyone shed light on how to use this properly or should I just leave it at 0db?

Hello acland,

We're currently working on an overhaul of the Audio Editor. We've received a good amount of feedback on certain filters not working as intended, and/or some customers not hearing a difference with certain sliders. This "Limiting Amount" slider is one of the issues we have taken into account. I'm sorry for any inconvenience that this causes you.

In general, to answer your question, the main reason you would use the "Limiting Amount" slider, would be to raise your levels to a level where you can hear them normally (after you've set your attack/release/pre-gain), without peaking your audio. What LumaFusion isn't showing is some visual indications of where the "Limiting Amount" takes over. This is one of the many things that we want to correct with the Audio Editor in a future update.

The Audio Editor is definitely something that our developers are tackling. Every new feature requires testing, tweaking, and time to get right. And our developers are currently working on trying to get it right.
