LumaFusion 1.7 is now available in the App Store. This update includes great new features like search and sort in the library, soft edges and curved corners in cropping, and our new integration with Storyblocks, a great royalty-free library of video, audio and sound effects. A sample of clips are included free, with a low-cost subscription available in-app for access to the full library

I recently tried to import 10 bit GH5 footage into my iPad under the latest iOS beta 12 but it refused...I was met by a red explanation point.

This worked fine under iOS11. I could also import HEVC HDR. Both could be edited in LumaFusion.

Anyone else confirm this? Is there a work around to get footage into Luma?

I really hate it when Apple “fixes” things.

This is the reason I didn’t upgrade yet to 12 :)
There is no real benefit of the new iOS compared to running workflow like LumaFusion.

I have other work around than downgrade, it will take some time until the Apps will release compatible versions.

Hi iScott - sorry to hijack your thread

Hi Travel Drone

This isn't in reply to your forum reply above, but to your PM (my reply seems to be stuck in the outbox)

Hi TD

With my fantastic Phantom 3 Standard there's no need to sharpen :D :D

(I'm only jealous)

Tap your clip on the timeline to select it
Tap the briefcase
Tap edit
Tap the 'teardrop' 4th from the left
Scroll past gaussian, motion etc
You will come to Sharp 1x 1.5x 2x
But if you pick any of them and open it up (with the down arrow thing) you will get a 'Sharpness' slider
(also adding a bit of contrast can sometimes make them 'appear' sharper)

Cheers
Dave

Did a little more experimenting.

The good news is LumaFusion can still play 10 bit and HDR GH5 files. I'm able to import using a 3rd party SD Card reader or an SMB connected drive. The workflow isn't ideal...the SD Card reader software can only 'share' one file at a time to Luma. The SMB drive is my TimeCapsule and does support multiple file import but was very slow (several minutes for 500mb). Before Apple's "upgrade," this took a few seconds.

I don't have a WD wireless drive to try but in theory that would work.

Are there any other methods/solutions to import from a GH5? Any way to use Apple's SD Card reader inside Luma and bypass Photos app?

Hi iScott

I wonder if Apple know that they have broken this?
Maybe it will be ‘fixed’ when the release version of iOS comes out

I hope so but it looks intentional...never seen the red exclamation mark before and it’s persisted through the betas. But fingers crossed.

Just curious, when LumaFusion does work with 10 bit footage, does it just drop the last two bits?

Share one file at a time problem:

Temporarily zip your files into one, share the archive from your SD card to
Luma directly or to your Files app somewhere into your Luma folder and tap
the archive from there.

Luma will open up and unpack your files to the correct Luma folder which
you should find under Imports-UserMedia/YourSDcardReaderAppName.

Do this with LUTs and they will end up in the UserLUTs folder.

Hmmmm.

I just watched a HennyThaBuziness video.

Something tells me we have a celebrity here.

What'z up, dude!

It was your Luma video that convinced me to go all in from my Mac Book Pro to iPad Pro - thank you for that. Too bad Apple discontinued their affiliate program... I clicked on a bunch of links from your referrals.

Still doesn’t work for me on the latest iOS. However in this video where he is reviewing the new iPad Pro he says it’s works using the new usb-c cable just beforenthe 5min Mark. Although you don’t 100% see it.
