Is there a eta on these things? They are so important to a lot of videographers and I’m going to have to spend a lot of money on a MacBook just for these two things. Any information would be much appreciated.

Hi Danfreeman

No there isn't an eta unfortunately

I'm a Beta Tester and I can tell you these features are not being tested ... yet

It's frustrating, but every time Apple change something it usually breaks something that was working fine previously so we don't get eta's

+1 for speed ramp.
It is a key feature for any video editing of drone footage.

I'm monitoring requests for this feature for over a year now and all that happened is the always same answer "we are planing this feature".

At some point you have to deliver if you want to take advantage of this rapidly growing market or people are looking elsewhere.

As you already have speed adjustment with keyframes, the underlying functionality is already there. It is just the interface to create the ramp that is missing. Can't be that hard and it is unlikely Apple updates will screw this. Probably just a case of priority? ;)

If only it was that simple

(and yes, I would find it useful for my drone footage too)

I’ve had good results with Deshake and it reportedly implements warp stabilization

I totally agree; these two features are the only things missing in Luma Fusion. Right now, I don't care much for any other new features or improvements other than stabilazation and especially speedramping. I am considering switching editing hardware because it seems there won't be speedramping implemented in the near future. For both features there are apps available, but they usually degrade the videoquality and make the whole editing outside Luma Fusion process way to tedious.

Speedramping apps I used:
Slow Fast Slow (iPhone app) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/slow-fa ... 09825?mt=8
Slo Mo VidSpeed Velocity Movie https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/slo-mo- ... 33332?mt=8

Stabilazation app I used:
Emulsio https://itunes.apple.com/app/id397583851?mt=8

If anyone has a better alternative, please let me know.

Of the two, speed ramping and video stabilisation, I would say that speed ramping is the easier of the two

I am not one of the developers, but speed ramping will come, I don't know when, it's not being tested - yet ... it will come when it comes

Video stabilisation - yep that's on the list too - but the nature of the beast - how much correction you apply and how much image you use/lose and whether it can be done in realtime means that while the image may be more stable (yes, I'd find that useful too) there will also inevitably be a loss of quality.

So adding a feature can make some people happy (all of us in this thread) but upsets more people who say it's no good

Let's be honest people rarely go on a forum and see 'this app is great' comments, you see 'this app is crap, it spoilt my whole life, iM*vie is better' etc

It's a very fine balance, without even thinking about what must be going on behind the scenes just to ensure the flipping thing is gonna still even boot up when iOS 12 comes :D :D

The link I posted for Deshake was pasted from iTunes on the iPhone...

It supports 4K without paying extra and is only $3.

The dozen or so clips I've thrown at it worked well. It's not the same class as the stabilizer in FCPX, but it's very good and universal.

Here's the review I posted on it:

I’ve had this app awhile but hadn’t used it much until recently. I’ve noticed it gets regular updates and seems to be maintained. So I decided to take it for a spin.

Was incredibly impressed to see that it even supports 4K video? I just tried out several short 4K source clips with varying types of shake and wobble. Deshake handled them all beautifully and saved 4K stabilized versions. Awesome!

Enthusiastically Recommended!

I'm sorry. We don't have an eta on these things.

It's not that they are not high on our list, it's just that there's a lot of things to do and we are a very small team. There are many opinions about what is the most important feature. We do listen and keep track of what is asked for and then schedule those things keeping in mind we need continual growth (either in the form of new markets, new users or in-app purchases) to be able to keep developing features at all, since the app is not a subscription once you buy it, you get to keep it forever for free.

So bear with us as we make decisions on how to best achieve these things while still keeping the company healthy and safe. And know that we are listening and will do our best to get you what you need.
