I’m working on a small project with 4K footage and Luma Fusion is handling multiple tracks of 4K in the original codec with zooms and color corrections like it is nothing. Neither my desktop nor laptop PCs can do 4K this smoothly and they are both high end machines with i7 processors, 16GB memory, decent graphics cards etc. i’ve been doing years of working with intermediate codecs or proxies and previewing at low resolutions, and here my iPad Pro with Luma Fusion is handling original codec files like they are nothing. Granted, there are more features on the PC software, but my Luma Fusion experience feels far more powerful. I’m happy about it, but I don’t understand it. Why does my iPad Pro running Luma Fusion fee so much more powerful than a desktop computer?

I wondered about this too and I believe it has something to do with numerous factors: the OS, LumaFusion taking full advantage of the GPU, etc. hopefully a more tech savvy user than me can answer this question properly.

I’m not more tech savvy than either of you but Sakakiyuya88 that’s the reason

The programming of Lima Fusion is obviously stellar. Probably a lot of it that IOS doesn’t have to deal with as much legacy code, and Apple has pretty much forced everyone to abandon 32 bit code.

Whatever it is, Luma Fusion on my iPad Pro may be behind in terms of track numbers and features, but performance wise it seems to run circles around an NLE running on my relatively fast computer.
