Greatest. App. Ever. I feel needy and demanding even suggesting a new feature, but I really would like to be able to loop playback in the timeline; it would be helpful in syncing the beginning and end points for a looping gif. Thanks!

Hello Dvdstrk

This is already possible. Tap and hold the play button. The timeline will go into loop play. However, it will loop play the entire timeline. Currently there is not way to add a mark IN or Out on the timeline.

In case anyone is looking for this, as I was, the function appears to be a double-tap on play, not a long hold.

Thank you, but my particular question after finding this thread, is how can I export the movie so it will just keep repeating after hitting the play button? Actually I uploaded photos from my iPhone 12 Pro Max to google photos that has that Harry Potter effect. I can't remember the exact name for it at the moment. But when I down load the photo it strips out the effect. I can download the photo as a video, but then it will not repeat. I just thought I would try to load the video in LumaFusion and see if I could do a quick edit and export the video as a self repeating video loop.

John

I don’t think this is anything to do with LumaFusion. Whether videos loop is a function of the app that plays them - some video players have a setting for this but Photos doesn’t. Perhaps you could convert it into a gif which do usually loop by default. You can also i think convert to a Live Photo which can be set to loop in Photos.

Mark is correct

The looping 'Harry Potter Effect' is part of the Photos App not a feature of the clip itself

Looping a specific section would be a great feature to have for control:
- if no clip is selected - loop timeline (as currently)
- if a clip/transition/audiotrack (or multiple) is/are selected - loop between start of first selected to end of last selected.
