If I want to render out an animation or some other video from my PC NLE for use in Luma Fusion, what video format should I use for the clips? Several formats work, but is one best in terms of best quality for the size, rerendering quality, and efficiency on the Luma Fusion timeline?

Also, is Luma Fusion limited to 8 bit video? Would 10 bits be wasted?

What is the maximum color space? 4.0.0?, 4.2.2?

I want to get the most quality possible out of Luma Fusion, but I don’t want to waste memory space of data is just going to be truncated.

Hello Vidiot

LumaFusion is 8 bit. I don't know what the color space is, I'll find out.

Here is a link to creating iOS and LumaFusion compatible video files:

Hope this helps

Thanks for your response. Those settings do seem to work well.

Since I hadn’t got a response earlier, I started experimenting on my own. Theoretically HEVC format should be better than H264 but I’m not having any luck with Handbrake H265 renders. Will Luma Fusion work with HEVC video encoded by the iPhone camera yet?

Maybe it might be worth picking up QuickTime Pro for the PC.

I was just playing around with Quicktime and it doesn't seem to recognize any of my camera footage, so I guess it is not an option.
