First off, Love, Love, Love update 1.4! Thanks for making this the quintessential editing app for Mobile Journo's!
I do have a request about the VO feature. After recording a voice over, it would be nice to pan to the left or right for a 1 track audio track rather than the dual mono standard it defaults to.
Audio Share still works great, and is easy enough of a work flow, but it would be nice to keep everything in the same program.

Thank you again, great work! Love this program.

Hello Marek

Am I correct in saying that you want to be able to place the VO on the left or right output channel only.

If that is the case, would you tell me the intent for it. That is, how does it fit into your work flow

regards

Hi Androum, our voice tracking in a story needs to match the interviews or it sounds 'off' when it goes to air. Like I mentioned we are going through the audio share app to voice and then export directly into LF which allows the track to be panned at that point. It would be great to do it right in LF but this is an acceptable work around.

Hi Marek,

Once you record the voice over, double tap on it in the timeline. In the audio editor you can pan, and even keyframe the panning, for the audio clip.

I just tested it in our beta build and it works nicely, so I believe it would work well with the release version as well.

Hi Marek

Following on from Terri's advice, have a look at my post here

Hi Terri, I've tried what you've described.. and keep getting the message "not available for mono Audio" I've checked to make sure the iPad isn't in mono audio mode in the Accessibility settings. You are able to do this using the in app "add voiceover"? I know about key framing I use it daily for volume adjustments, but when I attempt to use it for panning, it's not available to me. I've tried with the built in mic on the Ipad and an external microphone plugged into the audio jack.. same result. I can pan all audio imported from audioshare as well as from video files. I don't know how to post screen shots in here, or i'd upload a couple to illustrate what i'm talking about.

Cheers,
Marek

Thank you, but I'm referring to panning left to right. I'm very familiar with key framing audio levels. Do you have any images that you could share showing this?

Cheers,
Marek

You can also record a voice over as a stereo file. You must choose it in the 3 dots in the voice over tool. Then you can pan left or right.

BAH! I can't believe I missed that. Thanks Terri! You saved us a little bit of money with that one. I appreciate it!
