I hesitate to ask because I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but ....

I have a .mov produced by our corporate team that I've saved to Google Drive.
The video clip is 7 seconds long and plays fine within Drive. However, when imported to LumaFusion it's a blank 7 second clip.
The trimmer shows it as a blank 7 seconds and when I put the clip in the timeline an error indicates "This clip is not fully compatible with iOS and may cause crashes and playback issues".

Video: rle at 45.6MBits/s
Resolution: 1920x1280
Aspect: 16:9
Timing: 7.00 at
Audio: No audio
File: XXXXX.mov

What am I missing?

EDIT ...
Nevermind ... I see that .mov is not a supported file type. I'll try converting it.

Towen7, welcome to the forum!
.mov - is a container containing the encoded video and a codec is important, which you did not tell.

First, try simply renaming the .mov extension to .mp4. Most likely no transcoding is required.

And for the future, it is important to provide more detailed information in such situations.
If you have access to any computer (Mac or Windows), install on it  a free application and report here the full result of the characteristics of the clip.

Thanks!

I didn't realize that .mov wasn't a supported file type until after I posted. I transcoded the clip with Handbrake to .mp4 and all is well.

In hindsight, I could have tried renaming extension. I'll keep that in mind going forward.

Hello everyone

just to be clear, .mov using the h.264 codec is a supported file type.
When importing a clip into LumaFusion, we check for it's compatibility with the iOS AVFoundation which is what we use to playback video. If it reports any issues, then we put up our message. I'm not sure that just changing the file extension would have worked in this case. But transcoding is the better option.

Hello zombie

Currently iOS doesn’t support .mov with alpha. Which means we are not able to support it either. It is something that we will be working on in the future.

However, we do support graphic stills with alpha.
