Videos saved to photos carry the location and date/time of the saving rather than the event recorded. It would be handy if you could set these in the metadata when saving or even have it selected from the clips themselves? At the moment I do it after with the Metadata Pro app which is a bit clunky.

Brilliant idea. Needs to be cranked right up the to do list :D

Hello Mark NZL

I'm not familiar with the app you refer too. But I have a couple of questions
How would you deal with an edited sequence?
Would you want metadata of all the clips involved in the edit?
In the scenario you describe, what are you wanting to do with the metadata?

Regards

Would it be possible to have one clip 'tagged' by the user in the info panel and 'inject' the metadata from that clip into the finished render?

Easy to say, probably tricky to do  :D

Hello knobbydave

that sounds like an interesting idea. Would you tell me how you then use that information? what would be the work flow for you? How does it benefit you?

regards

Hi Androu

Er ... it doesn't help me particularly but I thought it might help Mark!

Personally I include the date in my filenames as in 'YYYYMMDD - Another Great Video'

But if you have the original date, time and location from a chosen clip embedded in the file header it could be a useful reference.

A single clip retains it's metadata and can be useful as in:

Wheras a completed video consisting of multiple clips at the moment would give:

I think that's what Mark was thinking?!? - 'Mark where are you ...'

Hi guys. I'm in Puglia in southern Italy. A photographer's dream by the way. They have these cute little smurf houses called truili everywhere.
Anyway all I want is for the saved video to show the correct date and say starting or average location so that it will pop up in places and events on the device in the right place instead of the saved place and date. It's silly if all the photos are together but the video is off somewhere else! Since I only use the iPhone these days file names don't help me much.
I'm enjoying using LF but do also use Quik because I haven't time to make a proper video every day. The greatest thing about LF is being able to stretch the audio over several clips. They do some great processions and band marches here and it's nice to record them as a sound track. I'd post an example if the internet was up to it.

I've created a feature request for this.
