Is Masking effect with keyframe change capability on the horizon?

I produce training projects in health research labs. being able to invert mask out extraneous material would be great (that way only my subject material is in focus). Similar to what can be done in Premiere.

This Adobe tutorial explains what I am requesting:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/us ... cking.html

I know it is asking a lot.

You can do that now by duplicating the clip and setting the crop area (mask) on top clip. You are limited to square shapes but you can round corners, you can also blur the edges.

Edit sorry this is lumafx, I was writing about lumafusion

You could for instance than blur the bottom clip and not the top clip creating an infocus window.

Or the other way around.
