Hi, there --

I'm writing to ask for a feature. I know there's a phrase for it in desktop editors, but I can't recall what it is, but what I'd like to be able to do is insert a new clip and have ALL tracks later in the timeline ripple out. Here's what I mean:

I've edited a video with numerous video edits, some sound effects synchronized to moments in the video, some music cues that are likewise synchronized. Then, I realize that I need to add an opening shot to set the scene more effectively. I'd like to have a mode in which I can drop that extra shot in, and all of the tracks -- video and all three audio tracks -- move outward to accommodate the new clip. Currently, just the video ripples out, and then I have to go in and manually reposition all of the sound edits.

Is this something that could be put on the list of features to come? Or is it a feature that already exists, but I'm too dense to discover?

Thanks!

Dex

Hi Sfdex,

Welcome!

Which product are you using? Pinnacle Studio does not have this feature, but the LumaFusion editor coming out in December will have Ripple Editing (or Insert Editing).
